The proceeds of the Tea become part of the total monies the United Methodist Women (UMW) use for community and global missions. At the end of each year, a percent of the money is sent to the Santa Barbara UMW District. The District then forwards contributions from all the Methodist churches that make up the District to the national UMW Organization who then distribute money to needy areas nationally and internationally.

The percent of the yearly funds that remain at our church is then allocated to community needs. This year, The Arroyo Grande UMW has already donated $1000 to a Clothing Fund at the Grover Elementary School.
